Paul Camerato Obituary

Longtime Cheshire resident and one of the town's most beloved clothiers, Paul L. Camerato, 81, peacefully passed away September 24, 2025. Paul's care and love for his family was never ending; in no case more than for his high school sweetheart, Corinne (Rittel), who he married on October 17, 1964. In addition to Corinne, he is survived by his three doting daughters, Michele Camerato (Donna Preli) of Wallingford, Lauren Mollin (Brett) of Cheshire and Allison Reilly (Chris) of Fairfield; as well as his brother, Donald Camerato (Marie) of North Haven; brother-in-law, Gary Rittel (Linda) of Cheshire; and sister-in-law, Betsy Foster (Jay) of Lovettesville, VA. He is also survived by 14 loving nieces and nephews.
The family of Paul Camerato welcomes all friends to a public visitation on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. On Tuesday morning, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bridget Church at 10:00 a.m. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery.

I remember thinking he sold the best clothes in the New Haven area and went to see him before I got married. He knew I couldn't really afford the amazing jackets and things we picked out, but he was gracious and kind and figured out a way to get it all paid for in time for the wedding. That was in 1971. I still have the three sport coats. One still fits. He sent me off in style. RIP.

To Corrinne and the entire Camerato family, Esther and would like to give our condolences. Paul was our baseball captain at Hamden H.S. and was well respected during those years. Above all he was a terrific person. Going to miss him. R.I.P. Paul!!

My deepest sympathy to Paul's family. Paul was such a nice man, always kind and friendly. I knew Paul a long time, since I was very good friends with his sister, Barbara, from our early teens until her passing in 2020. Rest in peace, Paul.

My condolences to his family. We grew up in Hamden Ct.not far from each other. I remember him playing baseball at Pine Rock field. Fond memories memories.
