Peter Carroll Obituary
Peter Richard Carroll, 70, of North Haven, CT (formerly Hamden, CT), passed away at Yale-New Haven Hospital on June 19, 2024, after a prolonged illness. He was born on March 12, 1954, in Taunton, MA to the late John and Marcella (Lang) Carroll. Pete is survived by his beloved wife, Janice (Cavaliere) Carroll, to whom he was married for almost 45 years. Pete will also be remembered by his two daughters, Jennifer (Tyler) Methot of Hamden and Stephanie (Ryan) Veilleux of East Windsor. Peter was predeceased by his son, Richard Carroll.
Pete was a lifelong resident of Hamden and a graduate of Hamden High School, Class of 1972. He retired from Metro-North Railroad after 45 years working as a conductor. Pete enjoyed summers on Cape Cod and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, MacKenzie and Carson. Pete was also a big fan of all Boston sports teams, in particular the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.
Pete was the brother of Elizabeth (Herbert Greenbacker) Tyrrell of Berlin, Gail (Peter) Novicelli of Berlin, Steve (Joan) Carroll of Cheshire, John (Colleen) Carroll of Brookfield, and Robert (Maureen) Carroll of Falmouth, MA.
Family and friends are invited to St. Rita's Church, 1620 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT, on Friday, June 28th, at 11:00 a.m. to attend a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ALS United Connecticut, at 4 Oxford Road, Suite E4, Milford, CT 06460.

One of my first conductors when I hired out in 1974. Really a great guy to work with. Some times avoiding "tough Tony" from getting haircuts. Overall had great times together. A true professional. RIP Pete.

So sorry to hear about Pete's passing. I went through all my school years with Pete from Helen St. thru Hamden High. One of my oldest friends. Always a great guy. Would see him from time to time over the years on the train. Rest in peace Pete
