Philip "Chip" Ronald Fioretti, 80, of Guilford, son of the late Philip and Hilda Fioretti, loving father of Philip Fioretti III and Lisa Fioretti Stockwell (Kelly), husband of Diana Fioretti and special friend of Marilyn Reynolds passed away peacefully on May 2, 2018 at Apple Rehab in Guilford after suffering a stroke a few months before. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Rose, Jack, Sophia, Philip IV, and Lily living in the CT and NJ areas.
Chip was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., and entrepreneur until his retirement in 2014. He started his career in the roofing and siding business as the co-owner of Atlas Roofing and Siding with his father, and later starting up several different businesses including Huckleberry's Restaurant in West Haven, and American Amusement Center in Milford. One of his biggest entrepreneurial accomplishments was in achieving and selling a U.S. patent (BingoNet.) Chip received his GED after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps. He never went on to college, but had a love for business, and did some of his best work on the back of a cocktail napkin. He never was an accountant, but had a love for numbers, he never was a banker, but had a love for quarters. He had a sense of adventure and truly enjoyed time spent with his family and friends; sharing a meal with him usually lasted hours. His generous heart and his mischievous smile will be sorely missed by his loved ones, but his amazing spirit will live forever in our hearts.
Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green with funeral services to follow at noon. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
