Goodbye, Ray. I am tearful for you departing this physical life, our lives. But I am joyous knowing you are in a good place and no longer suffering. You now have eternal rest. You are with your son once again. Thank you, my stepdad for 40 years of memories. Of a life that would have not been otherwise known if you hadn´t joined it. A quiet force. A good heart. I will miss you more than words could ever describe. Your smile I will always remember. Thank you for everything. May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand. My love and gratefulness to you forever.

To the Hartmann Family,
I'm sorry to read of Ray's passing. I attended HHS with Ray and had a number of classes with him. Always a great guy. A terrific pitcher at Hamden and always level headed. He was always very friendly towards me and will think of him as one of my sincerest classmates. Saw him at a few class reunions in later years. Rest in Peace my friend.
