Rebecca Nizamis Candido
September 23, 1932 - September 2, 2024
Rebecca Nizamis Candido, 91, known as "Becky" to her friends and family, and formerly a longtime resident of East Haven, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024. Becky was the devoted wife of her late childhood sweetheart, Nicholas G. Candido, for 59 years, and was the mother of Domna Candido (NY), Nicholas (Deborah) Candido (CA) and the late Thomas (Sue) Candido (CT). She is survived by her three granddaughters, Nichole (Anthony Adamo) Candido, Rebecca Candido and Jessica Candido, three great-grandchildren, stepsister Athena Matthews (NV), and predeceased by her brother Ballis Nizamis (NY), and her lifelong best friend Anna Raucci (Branford, CT). Prior to her retirement, Becky worked for many years in the Accounts Payable Department at Olin. She was also a longtime member of the Jolly Time and East Haven Seniors. Many thanks to all the dedicated staff at Artis Senior Living in Branford and Compassus Hospice for their supportive, empathic and compassionate care. Interment will be private, at the convenience of family. There will be NO CALLING HOURS. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org .
