Richard Consiglio, 87, of New Haven passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was born November 9, 1934 in New Haven to James and Julia (Scirocco) Consiglio. Richard is survived by his loving children, Teresa Preziosi (Gary) of Newington, Gina Vogel of West Haven, Julia Consiglio (Sean Cavanaugh) of New Haven and James Consiglio who was an incredible son who took care of his dad until his last breath, along with his grandson, Jimbo. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, Richard Consiglio III, Brittany Consiglio, Chelsea Vogel, Dean Vogel Jr., James "Jimbo" Consiglio Jr., Jocelyn Consiglio, Gianna Rose Consiglio and Dominic Consiglio, Tina, Krystal and Ricky McDonald and three great-grandchildren, Moises, Amayia and Chloe, a brother, Anthony Consiglio of Hamden, a sister, Josephine Pearce of East Haven, and many nieces and nephews that he truly loved. Richard is predeceased by his parents, his son Richard Consiglio Jr, and his siblings, Michael Consiglio, Marion McDonald, James Consiglio Jr., Thomasina Balsamo, and Joseph Consiglio. He was the husband of the late Esther (Centanni) Consiglio and Jeanette Consiglio.
Richard worked at a very young age for Keystone Bottle Company where he then learned to drive a tractor trailer. Years later he became a member of the Local 371 Teamsters Union while working for Bon Core Wines, Pepsi Cola and Blakeslee Construction. Our dad loved to watch sports and his favorite team was the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed the casino and playing cards with his family and friends. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and listening to Frank Sinatra. We will all miss his many stories and sense of humor.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 12 p.m. (Noon) until the time of service at 2 p.m. in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.

I send my deepest most heartfelt sympathy to Jimmy, Theresa, Gina, Angel, and all of your family. I hope that you are all able to find some solace and peace in the memories that you all cherish.
