Richard Kendall Obituary

Kendall, Richard
Richard Kendall was born on May 7, 1950. He grew up in Bayside, in Queens, New York City and subsequently lived in Brooklyn and New Haven, Connecticut. He died, unexpectedly, on April 28, 2020 in New Haven.
During the 1970s, Richard attended weekly "classes" in the Elmira, NY home of the world-renowned medium and author, Jane Roberts, during which Jane gave voice to a "spirit personality" named Seth. Inspired by those classes, Richard became an internationally known lecturer, author (The Road to Elmira, and others) and the writer/producer of a DVD, all of which reflected his Seth experiences. Seth and Jane had a profound influence on him throughout his life.
Richard is survived by his sister Elaine, in Florida, his brother Leonard and his wife, Judy, in Maryland and a number of nieces and nephews with whom he always enjoyed interacting. He was also a self-taught, self-deprecating, guitarist, since his teenage years.
He will be sadly missed by his family, many close friends and acquaintances.
An online Celebration of Life, organized by his friends Mary Dillman and Emmy van Swaaij, will be held later this summer.

I met Rich in the late 1970's in New York City when I attended a Seth get-together. He struck me as being highly intelligent and perceptive as well as kind and humorous. We were friends for several years until we lost touch when I moved to another state in 1980. Much later, we reconnected on Facebook and I bought and read several of his wonderful books. I will never forget Rich Kendall...he will always have a place in my heart and I look forward to seeing him again when this lifetime is over.

To my eyes, Rich has been a true Sethian in his own way, and I admire him for that. He also has been an outstanding help to my group, Seth Network Japan, i.e. he has promoted - and still is promoting - Seth's ideas spreading across time and space. I attach a photo taken in Elmira 1999, with Andy Hauck in the background. :)

So sad. It's hard to find words. I miss you. I am glad we met and our conversations were of great value to me. I still find it hard to believe that you are no longer with us. It feels unreal. And somehow you are still present.

I am one of the thousnds of "co-workers" with Richie in the Jane Roberts/Seth events in the world. We will miss Richie so much. Richie was such a creative and artistic, talented, magical writer and individual. He was of great help to Robert F. Butts with legal matters in the 1990's, he was a terrific publisher of Sue Watkin's books also in that era, and he was a beloved E.S.P. class member for so many of us who love to read his stories. He has a new book he has written, and which he finished just a few days before his death. I am so sorry that you have gone on, Richie, but I know that you and Sue must be having a great time, and you must be with so many people who I love and admire as well. Let us know what you are doing in your inspirational world!

I liked Richie from the moment I met him. Affable. Kind. Smart. It would never occur to me as I was shooting his portrait that I would see it in his obit. I wish him a safe and exciting transition.

We have lost one of the living testimonies of the greatness of
the Jane Roberts, Rob and SETHs legacies to whoever was and
is open to know the Unknown Reality. He never stop spreading
the huge amount of insights from the classes.
You will be in GOOD COMPANY, Richard.

I met Rich in 1998 at a Seth conference in New Haven. He had a great effect on my life with his open-heartedness and unassuming but committed work on behalf of the Seth material. He knew Jane, had listened to Seth. And he was a wonderful human being. I miss him a lot.

Rich was/is such a creative spirit! Ill always remember how he loved to make us laugh with the skits he wrote for many Seth conferences and the delightful quirky way his vigorously questioning mind worked. We will miss him, but certainly he is exploring and entertaining in vast new realms.
