In the early hours of Monday May 8, 2023, Robert A. Casale, of Haddam, passed away at the age of 40, due to a long battle with addiction. He was born on July 17, 1982. He is survived by his mother Candace Casale and long-time fiancé George Sima of Haddam, his father Eugene Casale and wife Judy of Clinton, his sister Katherine Tabak and husband Michael and their children Lexi and Preston of Cromwell, his uncle Paul O'Connell and cousins Matt and Jon of Middletown, his uncle Robert Card (Adriana) of Suwanee, GA and cousins Valerie (Greg), Allison (Chris) and Emily.
As a kid, Bob was very artistic and would often draw for hours. As he got older, he developed a love for cars and anything with an engine. He was able to take a broken piece of equipment whether it was an electronic or piece of lawn equipment and get it working again. Once he graduated from Haddam Killingworth High School, he worked in the tree industry as an arborist. He enjoyed this line of work very much. Unfortunately, his addiction became stronger, and he was unable to continue. Even through all the years of addiction he still had a great sense of humor and kindness towards people. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 11:30am at The Haddam Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name can be made to HVAS, 9 Skinner Rd., Higganum, CT 06441, or an animal rescue organization of your choice.

Dear Candy, Katie and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Bobby´s passing and I am thinking of you during this very difficult time. I saw Bobby a few years ago at the post office in Higganum. It was so nice to reconnect after all these years. I can still remember that little smile of a then first grader as I I look at the photo you posted. So sweet! May he rest in peace.

My beloved son, Bob-it's been two weeks since I found you....for better or worse, you will always be my "baby"- We had some horrible times in the past two years but many good times. I´m so sorry to hear of Bobby´s passing. I haven´t seen him in years so to me he´ll always be that cute kid who loved riding dirt bikes with the kids in the neighborhood and building forts and bike jumps in the woods. He had a great smile and sense of humor. I´m so sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace.
