Waterbury – Mr. Robert G. Giguere, 72, passed away on Friday, June 11, at his home. He was the husband of the late Sandra (Wilcock) Giguere. Bob was born December 12, 1948 in Woonsocket, RI, son of the late Antonio Deus "Tony" and Angelina (Sabastino) "Tootsie" Giguere.
Shortly after Highschool in 1967 he served in the Navy. Bob then began his Employment with the City of Milford as Surveyor in 1968 and continuing until his retirement in September of 2016 with the Wastewater division.
He is survived by two sons, Robert J. Giguere and his wife Devin of Southington and Matthew Ryan Giguere of NC; one daughter, Jolene Renee Snyder and her husband Ron of NC; two sisters, Marlene Galipeau of FL and Sharon Giguere Fowler of MO; ten grandchildren; one niece and three nephews.
When his children were younger, Bob enjoyed spending time on the ball field with them. He coached for the MNLL -Milford National Little League and taught Robbie, Jo, and Matt the game of baseball. While he wasn't playing softball, golfing, bowling, or coaching baseball he rooted for the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins.
In his retirement he enjoyed going for long walks, taking in the sites, striking up a conversation or lending a helping hand wherever he went. Sports remained a focal point rarely missing a game or exciting moment.
Blessed with the gift of conversation he will be remembered by many a stranger, friend, and family.
