Robert Kolakowski Obituary
Robert "Bobo" J. Kolakowski, Jr., a 66-year-old Ansonia resident, entered peacefully into eternal rest at home on Feb. 6th. He was born Nov. 30, 1958, in Derby, son of the late Robert "Pudgy" J. Kolakowski, Sr. and Constance "Connie" Culmo Kolakowski.
"Bobo" was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, West Haven and the University of Miami. He co-owned Beau's Restaurant with his sister, Tara, was owner of Millie's, II, and worked at the Evergreen Restaurant. He was the Assistant Director of the Ansonia Senior Center, as well as umpired and refereed softball, baseball and basketball for years throughout The Valley. He was a member of the St. Sebastian Club, the A.M. Club and lifetime member of The Norwood's A.C. Bobo was an avid golfer, who thoroughly enjoyed playing on Mondays and in Charity Tournaments. He was a fan of classic movies, especially John Wayne Westerns. Bobo was a friend to all, generous, gregarious and an extreme man of faith, who will be missed greatly.
He leaves his sisters, Karen Salisbury (Kent) of Ohio, Tara Kolakowski of Ansonia, nephew, Fred Kolakowski, Jr., niece, Amy Landrau (Carlos), nephew, Harrison Salisbury, niece, Emma Salisbury, and great-nieces, Abby, Lily, Isabelle and great-nephew, Charlie Landrau, along with his uncles, Angelo Culmo of New York and Eric Culmo of Florida. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Fred Kolakowski, and his special aunt, Millie Culmo. He leaves a host of special cousins, from Connecticut, Florida and Texas. He was blessed with many good friends who were like brothers to him, and they know who they are.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11th, at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia, with friends asked to go DIRECTLY for 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Friends may call on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St., Ansonia. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Norwood A.C.'s Fred Kolakowski Golf Tournament Scholarship Fund.

Bobo was one of a kind and to have known him was a great pleasure. Never met someone as outgoing and gregarious as Bobo and even though i moved to CA whenever I came back to CT. He treated me as an old friend.

Dear Tara and family,
I'm so sorry for the loss of Bo. I'll always remember his smile and laugh. Though he liked to make you think he was a toughy he had a huge heart and was good to everyone. A sweet man if you had the pleasure to know him . Hopefully his many cooking talents will serve him well behind those pearly gates. Wishing you all special memories and peace to Bo.
