Dr. Shreck was a caring, dutiful, hard working superintendent when our sons attended the Westbrook School System - for a time he also served dual functions as principal for the high school - his kindness was awesome and he always placed the children first. We are grateful to have known him.

Bob and I met in First or Second Grade in 1941 and we have been friends ever since, through our years as classmates in St Francis Parochial School and St Mary's High School, and two overlapping years at Fairfield University.
He was a wonderful friends. I loved him for his warmth, his humor, his kindliness, his goodness, his generosity of spirit.
Although he has lived in Westbrook for decades, he will be buried from what used to be St Francis Church, next to what used to be St Francis School that his work in his retirement years as its Principal saved for so long from the disintegration and disappearance of so many parish schools.
Bob was a Fair Havener born and bred, of a kind they aren't making anymore.

Words cannot adequately praise Dr. Schreck. His uplifting and positive influence was far reaching. It was the feeling that he really cared about you that I remember the most.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I attended Troup Junior High School, in the ninth grade. I lived on Dewitt Street in New Haven. I remember Mr. Schreck. However I am 76 years old, so I don´t recall if I had him as a teacher or not. In any event, hearing his name and seeing his picture brought back lots of good memories.
MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
