Our paths crossed briefly when Stefan and I were in our 20s. He had spent time in France and taught in South Africa. He wrote beautiful poetry in elegant, rhymed French, and, on no grander stage than my floor, gave a mesmerizing performance of Hamlet's soliloquy. He was proud of his world-renowned father, but he was a gifted, adventurous and artistic spirit in his own right too.

I was a high school classmate of Stefan's. He was a beautiful, sweet, kind man with a generous and compassionate heart. I will miss him.
