On Sept. 13, Stephen Grabowski, 41, of Guilford found eternal peace. Born October 23, 1975 to Susan (Rossiter) Curtin and the late Gary Grabowski of North Haven and loved by step-father George (Skip) Curtin of Milford, always a special father-figure through his entire life. Stephen is survived by a beautiful daughter Shayna Grabowski whom he deeply loved, her mother Raechel Cappiello, a long-time friend of Steve's, and pre-deceased by grandparents Daniel and Eileen Rossiter and Stephen and Frances Grabowski. He is also survived by countless aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and the entire Curtin family who welcomed him with open arms at the age of three.
Steve was known for his distinctive voice, quick wit and playful demeanor. Always fun growing up on Lake Quonnipaug and the farm, he adored his family, friends, animals, cars, trucks and all things Chevy, ATV's, X-Box games and Horseshoes with Bill. He will be greatly missed by his other family at Midas Muffler in Clinton, where he felt most at home and worked hard for 11 wonderful years.Our heartfelt thanks to Officer Steve Manware of Madison who valiantly tried to save his life, and Robert Page of New Haven, who counseled and guided him as a child, Cindy, and the countless teachers and social workers who always encouraged him to reach his full potential.A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the North Guilford Congregational Church, 159 Ledge Hill Rd., Guilford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Edward Jones 529, benefit of Shayna Lyn Grabowski, 71 Whitfield St., Guilford, Ct. 06437 (a memorial fund for his daughter's future), or to the North Guilford Congregational Church.
