Stephen Proto Obituary
CHESHIRE - Stephen Proto, 66, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden.
He was born July 22, 1952 in New Haven son of the late Cosmo Sr. and Anna (Aceto) Proto.
Stephen was an auto parts driver for Dowling Ford in Cheshire as well as an auto mechanic as a hobby prior to his retirement.
He is survived by a sister, Patricia (Ralph) Fisco, of Northford; nieces, Kimberly McKnight and her fiance, Ervin Peterson (aka Stephen's nephew), of Cheshire, and Nicole Proto, of Tampa, FL; and nephew, Paul C. Proto, of Oregon; and great-nephews, Nicholas (Cassandra) McKnight, of Cheshire, Justin McKnight-Appleby, of Cheshire, and Timothy Proto, of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by great-nieces, Nina McKnight-Appleby, of Cheshire and Orla Proto, of Oregon; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many friends. Besides his parents, Stephen was predeceased by his siblings, Cosmo Jr., and Paul Proto; and an infant brother.
Arrangements - Calling hours for Mr. Proto will be held 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2019 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St., 06410. Stephen's funeral will be held 10 a.m, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church, 55 Country Club Road, Cheshire, 06410. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations in his name can be made to Grace Baptist Church.
