Steven Davidow Obituary

Davidow, Steven J. Steven James Davidow of Branford died June 4, 2012 at Yale New-Haven Hospital after a short illness. He was 54. Steven was born June 26, 1957, in Mineola, N.Y., and was the son of Marie (Koenig) Davidow of Southington and the late Constant T. Davidow and lived in Plainview on Long Island before moving with his family to Trumbull, Conn., in 1968. He graduated from Trumbull High School in 1975. While in Trumbull, Steven volunteered with the Trumbull Center Fire Department, where his friends knew him by his childhood nickname, "Binks." He lived in Georgia for a time in the 1980s before returning to Connecticut, where for many years he operated heavy equipment for C.J. Fucci Construction Co. of New Haven on projects throughout the state. Steven enjoyed fishing on Long Island Sound and spending time with friends in Stony Creek and elsewhere. He loved to dance and was better at it than any of his brothers, which he knew wasn't a very high bar to clear. He is survived by his wife, Lenore, and her daughter, Danielle; three brothers and their wives, Constant and Elaine Davidow of Clarence Center, N.Y., Bernard and Mary Davidow of Longmeadow, Mass., and Richard and Leslie Davidow of Southington; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Kiraly, and his wife, Susan, of Shelton. He was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews: Peter and Arianne Davidow; Michael, Linda, Janet and Elizabeth Davidow; Eric, Lauren and Nicole Davidow; and Matthew, Daniel and Brian Kiraly. He was predeceased by his father, Constant Davidow, and sister, Linda Kiraly. The Funeral will be held 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington to Mary Our Queen Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull. Calling hours will be Thursday 5-8 p.m. For online condolence and directions please visit www.dellavecchiafh.com
