HORTON, SUSAN J. Susan J. Horton, 79, of West Haven, beloved wife of the late Carver W. Horton, passed away February 3, 2016 with her family at her side. Susan was born on December 15, 1936 in Mexico, NY to her loving parents, the late Alexander and Margaret (Golden) Steele. Susan had been employed by Sears Roebuck, City Trust Bank, and retired from AG Edwards. She was a devoted mother of six children. Her greatest moments were spent in the company of her loving family and Friday night family gatherings. Susan loved traveling with her late husband. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a loyal friend, devoted wife and a most loving and caring mother and grandmother. Susan is survived by her six loving children Frank (recently deceased Cindy) Horton of Uncasville; David (Diane) Horton of West Haven; Cathy (Robert) Daggs of New Haven; Scott (AnnMarie) Horton of West Haven; Lori Richards of West Haven; and Barbara Clark of New Haven. Susan is also survived by her 12 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; brothers Marvin (Nancy) Steele and William Steele of Carthage, NY; and a longtime dear friend Barbara G (Guzowski). Susan was predeceased by her sister Evelyn Grinter, sister-in-law Sally Steele and grandson Scotty Horton. Susan’s family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Hamden Health Care for the excellent care they provided her over the last few months. A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday February 10, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460. Interment will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery in Milford.
