Thomas Leahy Obituary

LEAHY, THOMAS MICHAEL
Thomas M. Leahy, 71, of Baltimore, MD, formerly of North Haven, CT passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in Baltimore, MD. He was born in New Haven on April 18, 1947; son of the late Clarence J. and Gertrude Butler Leahy. Thomas graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, King's Point, NY and served as a Licensed Engineering Officer on many U.S. flag vessels. After retirement he worked for MEBA, Marine Engineers Beneficial Association, as a union official in Baltimore for many years. Thomas is survived by his sister Carole Leahy and many relatives and friends.
The visiting hours will be Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:00. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Ave., North Haven at 11:30. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016 or a charity of one's choice.

Tom Leahy. A wonderful man. We shared a vision. We worked together, fought each other, fought together. Had some good times and we grew old and lived to talk about it. Sorry to see you go pal. Fair winds and following seas my brother.

I am so sadden to hear of Tom's passing. I worked with Tom at the MEBA Union Hall in Baltimore. Tom was always upbeat and happy and I will always remember him fondly and with great respect. God Bless you Tom!
