Vincent Trantolo Obituary

Vincent J. Trantolo
Vincent J. Trantolo passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, March 25, 2024, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. He was 78 years young.
Vincent was born on January 4, 1946, in Hartford, CT. He was the second of three sons of Catherine (Conlon) Trantolo (d. 2003) and Joseph J. Trantolo, Sr. (d.1974). Vincent was predeceased by his older brother, Joseph J. Trantolo, Jr. (1987) his younger brother, Mark D. Trantolo (1988) and Mark's wife, Grace (Kalinowski) Trantolo (2013)
Vincent spent his childhood in the South end of Hartford, West Hartford and Grove Beach Point in Westbrook, CT. He attended Conard High School, graduating in 1964. After attending Fairfield University and graduating in 1968, Vincent pursued a career as an attorney, He attended Suffolk University Law School in Boston, MA where he earned his JD in 1971, becoming the second generation of his family to practice law, along with his older brother.
In 1971, as their late father was suffering with illness, Joseph Jr and Vincent took over their fathers' law practice, eventually becoming "Trantolo & Trantolo." He innovated the modern law firm with his blood, sweat and tears. He built his astute reputation in the legal community with a vigorous resolve to help his clients with honesty, integrity, and intellect. Vincent had an unwavering resolve to be kind, helpful and empathetic to everyone who came into his life. He never shorted anyone his full heart and soul when they needed him.
In 1966, Vincent met the love of his life, Kathleen G. (Finnegan) Trantolo. Rarely has a couple been so completely in love with one another. They were married in 1969. They celebrated their 54th Anniversary in August of 2023. They renewed their vows three times in that period. Vincent and Kathleen had two sons, Keith V. Trantolo and Scott J Trantolo. He had four grandchildren that absolutely adored him.
Vincent was a multi-talented athlete who loved the outdoors. He loved to ski, golf, boat, swim, and hike. He was up for any game of any kind and was not in it to lose. He rarely did. He coached several teams in football, hockey, and basketball. Teaching was one of Vincent's passions.
Vincent was an avid and remarkably talented artist as well. A brilliant writer and orator. He was a man who rarely, if ever, accepted a challenge and failed to succeed. Vincent was a determined soul from the inside out.
Vincent believed in giving back to the communities that helped him become the man he was. He and his firm built an entire house for Habitat for Humanity. He organized thousands of charitable events for hundreds of different organizations. He gave his time, energy and love to those who were in need without hesitation.
Vincent is survived by his soulmate, the only love of his life, his wife, Kathleen, his son Keith and his wife, Emily, his son Scott, his wife Kynda and his four grandchildren Grady, Payton, Rowen and Hunter; his brother in-laws William Finnegan and Michael Engelman; his niece Beth (Trantolo) McPherson, her husband, Stacey McPherson, and their son, Joseph McPherson; his cousin Ken Kjellen, Ken's husband Chaz Manter; several other extended family members, and the myriad of friends who were and are "family" to Vincent in their own ways.
Vincent's family will receive friends Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. I met Vincent a couple of times during my law enforcement career and I was always impressed with his honesty. I would like to tell the family that I was in the Ct. State Police Academy in 1987 in Bloomfield, where either Joe or Mark {black Porsche} came and instructed my class in court testimony. He was awesome and stayed with us for several hours. Later we were informed by our 96th training troop instructor that the Trantolo family routinely does this free of charge for the Ct State Police. Says it all to me. God bless Vincent and theTrantolo family

I would like to give my condolences to the Trantolo family. In the mid 80´s Vincent used to come in for lunch with his Brother at Abdows restaurant in West Hartford. I was the cashier so I was able to have a conversation with him. He had a bubbly personality and he was very nice. Again I am sorry for your loss.
