NUNEZ TIRADO, VIRGILIO Virgilio Nuñez Tirado, 77, of New Haven, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Arden House, Hamden. Virgilio was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico on August 11, 1937, a son of the late Juan Nuñez and the late Eugenia Tirado, and had lived in New Haven for the past thirty two years. He was a carpenter for many years in Puerto Rico, and had worked at Clinton Nurseries, Clinton for ten years retiring in 1991. Virgilio is survived by a daughter, Jenny Nuñez of West Haven, four sons, Luis Nuñez of New Haven, Ferdinand and Billy Joel Nuñez of Deltona, FL, and Orlando (Jazzmine) Nuñez of West Haven, one sister, Lydia Medina of West Haven, one brother, Daniel Nuñez of Philadelphia, PA, ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Modesta Ortiz, and two brothers, Juan and Jesus Nuñez. Virgilio’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Christian Faith Church (Iglesia Cristiana Fe), 141 Sylvan Ave., New Haven. A funeral service will be held at the church on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
