Wade Prajer Obituary
Wade Michael Prajer, 22, of Milford, formerly of Southbury, the beloved son of Stephen Prajer and Renee Garcia-Prajer, entered into eternal rest on June 3, 2018. Wade was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury on March 15, 1996. He was a graduate of Pomperaug High School Class of 2015, attended Curry College in Milton, MA, and was currently enrolled at the University of New Haven.
Wade was a talented athlete, known for his skills on the football and lacrosse fields. He was a captain of the Pomperaug football and lacrosse teams where he played quarterback and attackman, respectively. Wade held several State and school records in football and received All League Honors in both sports. His love for his teammates and his desire to support them and work together are what made him stand out as a leader. His athletic career continued at Curry College on the lacrosse team as a midfielder where he attained the role of team captain in his sophomore year.
Wade enjoyed being fit, active, learning about nutrition, and mentoring others in sports. He loved his family life, vacationing with family and friends, and had a true passion for college sports. Most importantly, Wade was a devoted son and a loving brother and grandson. He was an honest, humble, and loyal individual who touched the lives of many.
In addition to his parents, Steve and Renee, he will be sadly missed by his sister, Macie; his brother, Jesse; his paternal grandfather, Ronald Prajer; his maternal grandmother, Shirley Garcia; his aunts, Tracy Prajer and Laura Garcia; his cousins, Marissa (Garcia) Darling and Rachel (Garcia) Maffucci, and several loving extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Jerome Garcia; his grandmother, Nancy Prajer; and uncles, Ronald Prajer, Jr., and Russell Garcia.
A memorial service that is open to the public will be celebrated on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff St., Ansonia, CT 06401. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday between the hours of 8:30-10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with interment in Mount St. Peter's Cemetery, Derby.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wade's memory to the Alex Archie Foundation, PO Box 2436, Providence, RI 02906 (www.alexarchiefoundation.com). The Alex Archie Foundation is an organization dedicated to helping student athletes achieve their dreams through life and lacrosse.
