WALTER FALKOFF Obituary

FALKOFF, WALTER Walter Falkoff, 66, of Starrucca, PA passed away on Easter morning, March 27, 2016 following a brief illness. Walter was born on May 23, 1949 to Harry and Anne (Lawlor) Falkoff in New Haven, CT. He was a graduate of Branford High School, where he lettered in Football and in Track and Field as an accomplished javelin thrower. He spent years as an executive chef before turning to his true passion – fishing. He worked as a professional guide in Montana and Wyoming before opening his own guide business guiding fly fishing floats on his beloved Beaverkill River in New York and the Delaware River in Pennsylvania. Known as the ‘Cod Father’ to his peers, he was a renowned fisherman with a deep respect for nature. Walter loved all animals, but especially his Golden Retrievers, Cahill, Angel, Froto, Willow, and Laddie, his oldest and most trusted sidekick. Walter lived his life to the fullest, always chasing his dreams and following his passions. Walter is survived by his loving wife, Lisa (Keagy) Falkoff of Starrucca, PA; by his brother Raymond Falkoff (Christy) and sister Judith Mercer-Falkoff (Robert) of Branford; and by his nieces Aleagia Mercer-Falkoff (Benjamin Barnes) and Katherine Falkoff of Branford and his nephew Patrick Falkoff of Ardmore, PA. He is predeceased by his parents. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church in Branford on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 9:30 in the morning. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, 749 East Main Street, Branford, CT 06405.

I remember Walter fondly as a neighbor and classmate in the 1960s. He was a tease, funny, and sweet. I'm so sorry for your loss.
