Christopher Santaiti Obituary

VERNON -- Christopher Lee 'Chrissy-Chris' Santaiti, 8 1/2, went to be with our Lord Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, after a long illness. He was born at Chilton Hospital Sept. 18, 2001, and lived in Vernon.

Christopher was a loving and devoted son to Chris and Lisa (Battaglia) Santaiti; beloved brother of Luke, Justin and Brittany Dinelle; adored grandson of Linda Battaglia of New Milford and James Battaglia of Sparta, and Joe and Yolanda Santaiti of Fair Lawn; and great-grandson of Yolanda DeFiore of West New York. His godparents were Jaime Battaglia-Van-Dam and Joe Santaiti, and he also is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Christopher was very well known in his community and Walnut Ridge School for his amazing infectious smile, true golden heart and unbelievable fighting spirit. His family has been so proud of the way he fought and his braveness during his long illness of eight years, always with a smile even after so much pain he endured. He will be forever missed but live in the hearts of all those he has touched.

A funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m., from the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, S-113 Farview Ave., Paramus, and 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, Saddle Brook. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association, 2819 West Highland Blvd., Milwaukee, WI 53208. To The Entire Santaiti family,

I worked with Chris for several years when he was a student at Walnut Ridge. His beautiful smile could brighten any room! He will always hold a special place in my heart.

I have wonderful memories from working with Christopher in Walnut Ridge - he made both big and small steps forward that always made me proud. Many times I would laugh that this little guy could have the lil' devil look in his eyes and turn and try to run away from me, or throw his food. Of course the food throwing part wasn't funny at the time he did it, but later made me chuckle. Chris has always been in my thoughts ever since I left the school for other employment. Love to the Family. Gina Niemiera
