Daniel Robert Blide

1957 - 2017

STILLWATER - Daniel Robert Blide, 60, of Stillwater, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at home on July 18, 2017. He was born on June 13, 1957, raised in Lake Hopatcong, and graduated from Jefferson Township High School. He was a lifelong quarryman where he supervised at Eastern Concrete in Glen Gardner and Weldon Quarry in Lake Hopatcong and was a member of Local 472.
Danny is survived by his wife, Nancy (Donnelly) Blide, and his four daughters, Lindsay Blide Kern (Daniel Kern), Amanda Blide, Danielle Blide and Shannon Blide. He also leaves the light of his life, his granddaughter, Violet. He is also survived by his nine sisters and three brothers, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, Otto and Lucy, and two sisters, Anita and Jacqueline.
Danny enjoyed camping, woodworking, spending time with his family and working in his yard. He always enjoyed helping anyone who asked. He was a perfectionist who could fix anything. He loved taking rides in his 1929 Model A Ford pickup and liked to sing a tune around the campfire.
Family and friends are welcome to share fond memories of Danny at his Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Andover Borough Firehouse, 152 Main St., Andover.
