Edna Kirby Obituary

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Edna M. Kirby, 92, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in the Gulf Coast Village Care Center. Born Oct. 18, 1916, in Belvidere, Edna lived in North Fort Myers, Fla., for nine years, coming from the Johnsonburg and Allamuchy area.

Mrs. Kirby was a housekeeper in the hotel and motel industry, and had last been employed at the Panther Valley Motor Inn in Allamuchy. She attended the Tranquility Methodist Church in Tranquility, and enjoyed needlework, cooking and baking.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Jennie Reid Hayes, and two brothers, Louis and John Hayes.

Mrs. Kirby is survived by two sons, William Kirby, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Milton Kirby, of West Linn, Ore.; three daughters, Carol Kirby Pustizzi, of Richmond, Va., Jean Hendershot, of North Fort Myers, and Beverly Kirby, of Mechanicsville, Va.; one brother, Kenneth Hayes, of Belvidere; one sister, Helen Tynan, of Hackettstown; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m., at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Tranquility Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1356, or Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
