Gary Placko Obituary
Frelinghuysen - Gary Placko, 80, of Frelinghuysen, after a long valiant fight with heart disease, passed away on 1/21/21 from COVID. He met and married his fellow hometown sweetheart from Basking Ridge, NJ. They shared their love of horses and animals, gardening, flowers, music, photography, and most of all the Lord and the Evangelical Free Church of Blairstown.
Gary proudly enlisted in the Air Force and served as NATO support in Europe during the Vietnam War, and then devotedly worked at Hewlett-Packard (1967- 2008) as Sales Support and Marketing Engineer and retired to enjoy a life of gardening, friends, family and pets.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Jones and his children Dennis (wife Brenda), Julia, and granddaughter; sisters: Diane Galloway and Judith Davies (husband Anthony).
A celebration of life will be postponed until a safer time. Arrangements are under the direction of Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ 07825

Gary was one of my first mentors when I joined HP over 30 years ago and taught me everything I needed to know about being the best Sales Support Engineer. He was a terrific colleague over the years. I will surely miss his joyful laugh and sense of humor. His contribution to work and life will be remembered always, and he will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to his beloved family.

Gary was a legend, known and loved by our customers, our sales teams and by all his colleagues. He has been missed since he retired, his passing only deepens the sense of loss. Rest in peace friend!
