Joan VanderPloog Obituary
Born in Paterson, Joan was raised in Oakland and moved to Sussex County in 1984. She was a graduate of Indian Hills High School in Oakland and Sussex County Community College in 2003.
The daughter of the late Anthony and Amelia (Cress) Grossi, Mrs. VanderPloog was predeceased by her husband, Neil, in 2000. She is survived by four children, Jason VanderPloog and wife, Lucille, of Branchville, Rebecca Phoebus and husband, Robert, of Hackettstown, Laura Ferri and husband, Benjamin, of Andover Township, and Neil J. VanderPloog and wife, Vanessa, of Kearny. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Mark Grossi of Michigan and Frank Grossi of Arizona; and one sister, Anne Fox of Indiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church in Sandyston. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville.
Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Paterson, 24 De Grasse St., Paterson, N.J. 07505-2001. Online condolences may be offered at www.woodfuneralhome.net

I just heard about Moan having passed away. I am sorry for your family's loss. I will always remember what fun it was to work with her. Time goes so fast, I wished to have been able to be there for her. I will miss her terribly! My prayers go with you all!
