Joseph C. "Crabeye" Arceneaux, Jr.

CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Joseph C. "Crabeye" Arceneaux, Jr., age 57, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 12:45 a.m. at his residence in Carencro.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Peter Emusa, pastor of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Carencro, will officiate at the services. Readers will be Jeramie Jackson, Jr., Jasmine Jackson and Tyreon Clay. Giftbearer will be Jermanda Sylvester and Alaia Jackson.

Mr. Arceneaux was a native and a lifelong resident of Carencro. He attended Carencro High School. He was formerly employed with Home Furniture in Lafayette. His favorite hobbies and past time was working with racehorses and fixing automobiles. Mr. Arceneaux was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Carencro. He was a devoted son, dad, brother and cared about everybody's needs. Mr. Arceneaux had an extraordinary love for his grandchildren.

Survivors include his parents. Joseph Clifton Arceneaux, Sr. and the former Rita Rideaux, of Carencro; two sons, Jeramie Jackson and Corey Gallien, both of Carencro; seven grandchildren, Jermanda Sylvester, Tyreon Clay, Jeramie Jackson, Jr., Jasmine Jackson, Alaia Jackson, Karder Henry and Harmoni Gabriel; four brothers, Danny Arceneaux, Nathan Arceneaux, both of Carencro, Marcus Arceneaux and his wife, Melanie, of Arnaudville and Jonas Arceneaux and his wife, Kitchia, of Lafayette; and five sisters, Helen Arceneaux, Monica A. Henry and her husband, Herbert, Nanette Arceneaux, all of Carencro, Mary Arceneaux of Lafayette and Sharda Howard of Sunset.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Arceneaux and the former, Belizaire Sias; and his maternal grandparents, Antoine Rideaux, Sr. and the former, Laura Carmouche.

A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Alfred Sinegal, Harry Livings, John Bernard, Carl Mouton, Bob Joseph, Sammy Sampy, Jeramie Jackson, Jr. and Tyreon Clay. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeramie Jackson, Sr., Corey Gallien, Danny Arceneaux, Joey Benoit, Marcus Arceneaux, Nathan Arceneaux and Jonas Arceneaux.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to members and staff of Hospice of Acadiana, his caregiver, April Jack, of Magnolia Home Health Care.
