Robert Smith Obituary

JEFFERSON - Robert "Red" Smith, 54, died at home on Tuesday, June 24, 2008.

Born in Dover, he lived in Mount Arlington before moving to the Lake Hopatcong section of Jefferson 33 years ago. Mr. Smith was employed as a truck driver by A & A Dixon Heating Oil of Mountain Lakes for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years: Patricia Pehowic Smith; three children, Amy Gjelsvik and her husband, Justin, of Lake Hopatcong, Sarah Nicklow and her husband, Brett, of New Gretna and Robert A. Smith of Lake Hopatcong; his brother, Richard of Stanhope, and two sisters, Janet Smith of Jefferson and Charlene Leek of Aurora, Colo.

The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Offer online condolences at www. BerminghamFH.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 669 Littleton Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054 will be appreciated.
