Ruth Grenot Obituary

Ruth Lecher Grenot, 89, of the Country Meadows section of Mechanicsburg, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Holy Spirit Hospital in East Pennsboro, Pa. Born in Dover, she had resided in Roxbury for 50 years. She resided in Dover before moving to Pennsylvania 11Ú2 years ago. Daughter of the late John P. and Nancy Hulmes Lecher, Mrs. Grenot was a 1936 graduate of Roxbury High School. A homemaker, as well as a clerical worker for Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, she was active in the Lillian A. Hawk Social Club. She was a longtime member of the Knights Templer Ladies Auxiliary Commanderie No. 12 of Morristown and a longtime member of the Lower Berkshire Valley Methodist Church, as well as a Worthy Matron with the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crochet and arts and crafts. Her husband of 54 years, Charles Grenot Sr., died in 2005, and her sister, Valma Able, died in 1975. Survivors include her sons, Charles H. Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Mechanicsburg, John E. and his wife, Dorothy, of Windermere, Fla., Raymond J. and his wife, Nidia, and Albert C. and his wife, Donna, all of Lower Berkshire Valley. She also is survived by her 12 grandchildren, Danielle and Nicole Grenot; David and his wife, Shawna Pierro; Jason and John Grenot; Raymond Grenot Jr. and his wife, Terri; Jennifer Unick and husband, Michael; Jessica and Jonathan Grenot; Julie Terres and husband, Bill, and Andrew and Peter Grenot; and five great-grandchildren, Tyler and Rylee Grenot, Brendan and Christopher Pierro and Madison Grenot. The funeral will be held Saturday, at 10 a.m. ,in Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 1 Baker Ave., Dover. Interment will follow in the Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. Visitation will be held in the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. Online condolences may be offered through www. smith-taylor-ruggierofuneralhome.com.
