In Loving Memory of Martin Alter

February 7, 1946 – February 28, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Martin Alter, who went home on February 28, 2026, surrounded by the family he adored. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on February 7, 1946, Martin was a man defined by his kindness, his unwavering work ethic, and a legendary sweet tooth.

A Life of Service and Dedication

Martin moved to Roxbury in the 1950s and graduated from Roxbury High School in 1963. Shortly after graduation, he answered the call to serve his country in the United States Navy. From 1963 to 1967, he served as a radio communications operator aboard the USS Chuckawan and the USS Belmont, a period of his life that instilled in him a lifelong sense of duty.

After his honorable discharge, he spent 15 years with the Ford Motor Company. Ever the entrepreneur, he followed his ambition in 1988 by founding Pro Bill Data Solutions. He successfully owned and operated the business for 30 years, earning a reputation for integrity and excellence before his well-deserved retirement.

Family and Legacy

At the heart of Martin's world was his family. He shared 51 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Angela. Together, they built a life rooted in love and devotion.

• Children: * Brian and his wife Jennifer Alter.

• Stacy and her husband Joe Barrett.

• Grandchildren: Samantha and Vin, who were the absolute lights of his life.

• Siblings: survived by his brothers, Elliot and Warren.

• Extended Family: Deeply loved by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Camille and Pat Izzo, along with a large circle of extended family and friends.

Martin was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Faye Alter, and his in-laws, Gerardo and Angelina DeLuca.

Simple Joys and a Kind Spirit

To know Martin was to know a man who never said "no" to anyone. He was famously easy-going and possessed a gentle nature that left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

His passions were simple but profound:

• Nature: He found great peace in the outdoors.

• Sports: A loyal fan of the NY Rangers and a lifelong devotee of the Brooklyn Dodgers.

• The Little Things: He was never one to turn down a Mallomar-a treat that brought him a smile every time.

Above all else, Martin loved his work, but he adored his family beyond measure. His legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
