Stephanie P. Walilko

VERNON -- Stephanie P. Walilko (nee Doerner), 55, died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 31, 2014. The daughter of Ernest and Eleanor (Weder) Doerner, she was born in Bloomingdale March 21, 1959. Mrs. Walilko grew up in Bloomingdale and had resided in Hawthorne and Prospect Park before moving to Vernon 22 years ago.

Stephanie worked for Prudential Insurance Co. in Parsippany from 1977 to 1992 as a computer programmer supervisor. Most recently she was self employed as a computer network administrator until her retirement three years ago.

Stephanie’s love of life, travel and animals was surpassed only by her love for her family. She lived life to its fullest and was thankful for each and every day she was here. She fought a long, tough fight against cancer with her head held high, and she truly appreciated all of the love and support from her family and friends throughout her battle.

Mrs. Walilko was predeceased by her mother, Eleanor Doerner, in 2002 and is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Joseph Walilko; father, Ernest Doerner of Vernon; sisters, Debbie Woodin and her husband, Kenneth, of Denville, and Lori Zuckerman and her husband, Scott, of Pequannock; nieces, Kaille and Klaire Woodin and Rachel and Kate Zuckerman.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 (GPS use 1 Vanderhoof Court), Vernon. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Vernon.
