Sorry to hear of Steve's passing. We had a lot of good times as kids growing up in Mount Salem, fishing, playing softball, or smoking straw in our "clubhouse" chicken coup. Steve had heart and an inner strength that overcame the obstacles that life dealt him. Condolences to his extended family.

To the Brown family,It is with my deepest regrets and condolences to hear of Steve's passing. Growing up in Sussex Hills was the first time meeting Steve, playing Basketball to all hours of the night or having him kick your butt on the pool table, it will always be a fond memory. In later years it was always good to see Steve at school functions with my son, and telling him about Steve when I was growing up. May God bless at this time of sorrow.

Uncle Steve, I love you so much. I am so sorry that I didn't make it down there with the kids when you asked us to come see you...I will live with that regret forever. Thank you for being such a great Unlce, my greatest memory of you (although there are so so many) is when you baked me that cake for my Birthday that one year...you made it with love and that is what you put on the card too. I love you so much, thank you for so many memories. RIP! You were the best uncle that anyone could ask for.

To Casey and Sarah and the entire Brown Family,
My heart goes out to you all... Steve was truly a wonderful man and my family loved him dearly. He was as they say, "a Good Man"... always kind, caring, thoughtful and giving with a quick and ready smile. I am very grateful to have had him as a member of our family for over 10 years. He was an inspiration to us all... for his positive outlook and his determination to overcome obstacles. Steve was never one to complain and instead appreciated the little things life had to offer... and mostly the relationships he had with those he loved... his friends, family and especially his daughters and grandsons! He will be very fondly remembered forever and deeply missed by many. May God rest his dear sweet soul.

Steve was "the brother I never had."

As some know, he lived with us for about five or six years. We spent many a Sunday (and Monday nights, later than I should've been up)watching the NFL during my High School years.

He never let his handicap keep him down as he had quite a shot on the basketball court. He was a gamer. Sometimes when he would fall down, he wouldn't let you help him up. He was just a tough guy. And strong as an ox from weightlifting. The man had arms like Popeye.

I regret that I didn't get a chance to see him for so many years leading up to now. Especially on my last trip back to New Jersey during Thanksgiving.

Thanks for helping me during those formidable years of my teenage youth Steve. I'll miss you.

And thanks to Darlene who was very kind to me as a youngster. I'll always appreciate her too.

R.I.P. brother Steve
