Vincent Marino Obituary

NORTH HALEDON - Vincent "Jim" Marino, 94, of North Haledon, passed away Satuday, Aug. 13, 2011, at St Claire's Hospital. Born in Fraine, Italy, and formally of Paterson, he had lived in North Haledon for more than 60 years.

Before retiring in 1971, he was an electronic trouble shooter on flight simulators for Curtiss Wright Electronic Systems in Paterson. Previously he worked for Western Electric on the development of the first radar system. He also had a part-time photography business and repaired TVs and radios. He also was a parishioner at St Paul's R.C. Church in Haledon.

Loving husband of the late Molly Marino (2010). Devoted father of James and his wife, Phyllis; and the late JoAnne Zivkovitch. Loving grandfather of Jessica Zivkoitch and Paul and Anthony Marino. Adoring great-grandfather of five. Predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Jim devoted his life to his wife and family. He was a wonderful father and grandfather.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul's R.C. Church, Prospect Park. Interment will follow in Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.

Calling hours will he held Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, Franklin Lakes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Westwind Manor, 25 Main St., Franklin, NJ 07416. For further information, visit www.vpmemorial.com or call 201-891-4770.
