Kathleen E. "Kay" Lloyd July 30, 1936 - January 19, 2022 Amazing mother, wife and friend to many, passed away in her home of natural causes on January 19, 2022 in Everett, WA at the age of 85.
Kay was born on July 30, 1936 in Whitefish, MT to Charles Price and Mable (Bumgarner) Price. Kay married Dale Lloyd in Seattle, WA in 1958. They had two children Wendy & Jana. Kay grew up in Kalispell MT, after high school graduation she attended College in Alberta, Canada graduating in 1958.
She is survived by her daughters Wendy Lloyd (DaKara) of Everett, WA and Jana Lottinville of Woodinville, WA; grandson, Anthony Lottinville; of Auburn, WA and granddaughter, Jennell (Lottinville) Benedict of Reno, NV.
Kay was an adventurer at heart. She and Dale had traveled in all but one of the 48 States, and enjoyed every back road that they could find. She loved to snowmobile and had ridden in several states including Alaska, when in 1992 she and Dale rode the Iditarod Trail from Nome to Anchorage.
To some Kay is known as the "Matriarch" of Snowmobiling as she has been involved in many organizations to create change for the greater good and keeping trails open and safe. She volunteered countless hours of her time to help make the world a better place. Kay served on several boards of directors to be of service, locally, Statewide and Nationally. She received several awards and helped get bills passed through congress.
She loved the outdoors, from snowmobiling to hunting, jeeping, dirt biking, climbing mountains, rock climbing, fishing, motor home traveling and cruises. She spent many nights under the stars while backpacking and camping. She traveled to Switzerland, Germany, Italy, New Zealand and Australia. She enjoyed watching the Seahawks and Mariners games. Enjoyed sunrises and sunsets as she enjoyed life as an adventure. She loved her kids and grand kids and took them on adventures creating beautiful memories.
Kay worked in the Print and Publishing industry for many years. She retired from the Printing Center for the Lake Washington School District in 1998 as the Manager.
Kay was a "pay it forward" person. She gave from her heart and always had others needs in mind.
Join us for Kay's "Celebration of Life" on April 30, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Centennial Center in Cle Elum, WA. Everyone is welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the UKC Senior Center
