Dr. Calvin A. loving and devoted husband of Mary Harper; beloved father of Calvin "Alex", Tiffany Paige and Chad Austin Harper; dear brother of Harriet Ward and Salsabil Abdul Barri; endearing grandfather of C. A. Harper,II; also survived by other relatives and many dear friends. Passed away Monday, Mar. 20th at the age of 76. Friends may call Friday, Mar. 31st from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Morning Star MBC, 722 Oak St. and Saturday, Apr. 1st from 8:00 AM until time of service 10:00 AM at Golden Leaf Baptist Church, 5910 Argus Rd. I'm so sorry to hear of the home going of Pastor Harper. I joined Morning Star back in the mid 80's and since relocated. A very powerful orator of God.
I really appreciated his messages. Peace to the family and his church family.

Reverend Harper was a good man he was a teacher and a preacher of sincere obligations to the Lord. His impact on the community is great and he will never be forgotten. We will see him again in heaven.

Sister Mary, Alex, Chad, Tiffany and family our sincere thoughts as well as prayers are and shall continue to be with you. We know Pastor Harper's soul and spirit have been carried into the presence of the Father. He has made transition from earthly existence to eternal existence. I remember Pastor Harper always stopping any conversation with anyone else when you or his children walked up so he could listen to what you wanted to say. Calvin was a blessing to so many throughout his entire life. He leaves a robust legacy of sincere caring and love for all people. My heart ached when I read of Calvin's passing. He and I were classmates at Taft High. Calvin will indeed be missed.
