Immaculata Haar Obituary
HAAR
Sister Immaculata Haar, OSB, died peacefully Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at St. Walburg Monastery at age 89. A Benedictine sister for over 71 years, Sr. Immaculata most recently served as assistant business manager at Madonna Manor for 20 years. Prior to that, she worked as bookkeeper for the law firm of Pfeffer & Prieto in Covington, LA. Sr. Immaculata served as teacher, librarian and principal at a number of Catholic schools in New Orleans and Covington, Louisiana. For many years she was the organist at St. Scholastica Priory, also in Covington, LA. She is survived by nieces and nephews, friends and her Benedictine community. Vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm, Sunday, January 5 followed by visitation until 9:00 pm and the Mass of Christian Burial at 5:20 pm, Monday January 6 at St. Walburg Monastery.
