I knew him as the father of a good friend, Gary, and a superb Scoutmaster who stood for everything I enjoyed and admired about Scouting. I'm sure his influence was behind my agreeing to serve on the committee for my son's Scout troop in Japan. He was, in essence, a teacher, and it's nearly impossible to truly know how many lives a teacher influences. With respect for him and condolences for his family, Jim
