Rest in peace. The only priest to ever make a good impression on me.First communion, confirmation, baptised two of my children, My marriage and lots of family funerals. He was there guiding us through all life's hurdles.I only found out many years after my marriage that he didn't think it would last. 34 years later and still hanging in there.I guess he did a much better job counseling us than he thought.Heaven truly called another one of it's angels home.

Father Shappelle was and always will be there for me and my family. He was there during the highest times baptisms of children, weddings, and graduations. And he was there during the lowest times (death of husband and daughter). I will forever love him. Rest in Peace Fr Jim.

Fr.Shappelle was a marvelous light & wonderful friend and minister of the Sacraments for many marriages & baptisms in our family. His homilies were beyond special. He exemplified the ways of Jesus in his love, laughter, faith, hope , and in living a life of simplicity and obedience. His touches of truth and beauty reached so many people. His example of a life well-lived will spur us all on to the same!...God bless him richly forever.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen. We have lost a wonderful priest who always was there to help our family no matter what. A true disciple of Jesus spreading God's Word. He knew no strangers. "...And, now the time has come for Father Shappelle to rest; Jesus is taking him home as His special guest," Life just changes, never ends. but little by little, we begin to remember not just that he died, but that he lived. And that his life gave us memories too beautiful to forget,,,,,,Forever in our hearts.. Sue Leeds

Fr. Shappelle was a wonderful and holy man. He was instrumental in the formation of my Catholic faith, starting with being baptized by him on Easter Sunday 1976. I will miss him.
