Joan Shockey Obituary

SHOCKEY

Joan Marie Shockey, 83, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. She was a retired Real Estate Agent with Sibcy Cline where she developed lifelong friendships with her clients and colleagues. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park where she loved singing in the choir. Joan was the most loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved the ocean, fishing and swimming. She was a member of the "Club" a group of high school friends who met at the Greyhound Tavern each month. Most of all Joan loved being with her grandchildren. Survivors include her sons, Joe (Jennifer) Shockey of Fort Mitchell, Keith (Debbie) Shockey of Crestview Hills, Stan Shockey of Edgewood; daughter, Kathy (Jeff) Groob of Covington; sister, Joyce Liston Hubbell of Villa Hills; grandchildren, Blake Shockey, Kevin (Julie) Groob, Jason (Kate) Groob, Meghan Groob, Austin Poston, Olivia Shockey, Taylor Shockey, Ella Shockey, Claire Shockey, and Sophia Shockey and special friend, Sally Ziedler. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Shockey (1992), son, Clint Shockey and brother, James Liston. Visitation is on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 11:00 AM to the hour of service at 1:00 PM all in Immanuel United Methodist Church, 2551 Dixie Hwy, Lakeside Park, KY 41017. Interment in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Immanuel United Methodist Church or Madison Avenue Christian Church Feeding Program. 1530 Madison Avenue, Covington, KY 41011. Ronald B.
