I have just learned of John's passing from Ken Degregory and want to express my sincere sadness. John was a longtime friend, classmate at Chase and fellow fisherman.(although on his first trip to Canada, he was ready to quit fishing after the first catch.
He was honest, sincere and always willing to help a friend or colleague in need. He will be missed. Terry Monnie

Our hearts are heavy for your loss and our prayers continue for all during this difficult time.
I have been blessed to share many family celebrations with John in Texas with his daughter Kelli and her family. I will always remember his strength of character, sense of humor and heart of gold! I am grateful to him for being such an incredible father to my dear friend, the apple doesnt fall far from the tree and so there is comfort knowing his legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren. Rest In Peace John.

I worked with John for many years during Probate Court hearings at Summit Behavioral. Although we represented different sides, we managed to forge and maintain a relationship that allowed us to meet for standing monthly luncheons for the longest period of time. John was a character, and I will miss him. He was a good man, and will be with you always. You have my utmost, deepest and most sincere condolences.

I have so many fun memories of my times with John... houseboat trips, cookouts, fishing trips, and of course Bengals games. Whenever I was with John and John Jr, they were always the best of times and just full of silly laughter.... I can hear him now... Joe, Joe, Joe.... 2 olives or 3? Rest In Peace my friend, you touched so many!

In the mid eighties I was a young attorney repreenting a woman seeking emergency custody of a child. John represented another person seeking custody. I scheduled a hearing in front of a magistrate not realisiing the order would not be effective for 14 days. John waived the appeal period and temporary custody was granted to my client. I always remembered that gracious act because at that time and place it was the right thing for the child. John was a true gentleman.

John was one year ahead of me at Chase Law School. I met John when we played on a law school sponsored softball team. After law school, I had the opportunity to see John frequently. Whether it was in court, at a LaSalle High School sports awards banquet, or at a Continuing Legal Education seminar I always made the opportunity to speak with him.
Our community has lost a great man, a great lawyer, and a truly unique individual with his passing.

To Sharron and our extended family - You have all been in our thoughts and prayers since the beginning of John's illness. We were so fortunate to have time with him and Sharron in the past several months and during all our many, many years together. John shared his love with us through everything he did--his legal advice, his help, his stories, and his never-ending ability to welcome and entertain. We will miss John so much. We are sharing some of our many memories together.
