Dr. Kenneth Ray Estes, DMD

Florence - Dr. Kenneth Ray Estes, DMD, age 91, of Florence, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at his home. He was born on May 18, 1929 to Earl and Bertha Estes (nee Goodpaster). He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Steven Ray Estes, and brothers, Richard Estes, and Elwood Estes. Kenneth is survived by his beloved former wife of 32 years, Karren Estes; daughters: Jocel Helton, Jody (Salvatore) Dinardo; grandchildren: Benjamin Estes, Katie Estes, Travis A. Helton, Devin R. Helton, Antonio Dinardo; step-grandson: Brandon (Kristen) Bell; daughter-in-law: Sonya Bell Estes; sisters-in-law: Betty Estes, Pat Meredith; brother: Gene (Pat) Estes; friends: Daryl Baker, David Rameriz, Marcus Gale, Dr. Rufus Durden; and a host of other family members and friends. Doc graduated from high school in Elizabeth, Indiana in 1947. Then he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and went off to graduate from the College of Dentistry at U of L in 1961. Doc was known by his patients and colleagues as a dentist always striving to be current on new procedures and technology. He loved serving his community by offering his patients quality dentistry at economical prices. He started his practice in Ludlow, Kentucky, moved to Erlanger, then moved to Florence and back again to Erlanger. Doc was still practicing until just 3 months ago. His hobbies include golfing, flying airplanes, playing guitar, listening to music, and spending time with his family and dear friends. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018. Funeral Ceremony will follow at 12:00 pm with burial after at Highland Cemetery. In loving memory of Doc, contributions may be made to Bluegrass Hospice, 1733 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, KY 40504 and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Dr.Estes was a good friend. He encouraged and supported my interest in dentistry. While I was in dental school I visited his office often. I was blessed to have talk with him recently.
