Kenneth Raymond Harper, 90, of Falmouth, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014, at the River Valley Nursing Home in Butler. He was born in Pendleton County on August 10, 1924. On December 27, 1942, he married Wanda Wilson Harper, and his wife of 65 years preceded him in death on August 6, 2007. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly J. Price on February 26, 2005 and his grandson, Travis Harper. Kenneth was a well-known Pendleton County farmer, manager of the Towne & Country Car Wash in Alexandria, KY, a WWII U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the Oakland Christian Church, Pendleton County. He loved to play cards and show hogs and fox hounds. He is survived by two sons: Stephen (Pamela) Harper and Phillip (Margaret) Harper, both of Falmouth, KY; 6 grandchildren: Scott (Dee Dee) Harper, Trent (Michelle) Harper, Aaron (Becca) Harper, Amanda Dawn (Jonathan) Thornberry, Kent Price, and Krista (Danny) Brooks; and 12 great grandchildren: Aven, Conner, Cailyn, Matthew, Alexander, Meredith, Taryn, Trevor, Ella, Noah, Dustin, and Rebecca. The funeral service will be held at 11 am, Monday, December 15, 2014, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Bro. John Byard officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons: Scott Harper, Trent Harper, Aaron Harper, Kent Price, Jonathan Thornberry, and Danny Brooks. The honorary pallbearers will be Eric Miles, Larry Aulick, and his great grandsons: Aven Harper, Matthew Harper, Conner Harper, Alexander Harper, and Trevor Price. Special music will be shared by Michael Cummins. The visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Oakland Cemetery, Pendleton County.
