Michael Seger Obituary
Rev. Michael, devoted son of the late J. Stanley Seger and Marjorie Ackerman Seger, dear brother of Scott (Pat) Seger, Terry (Barb) Seger, Mary (Craig) Holland, Connie (Tom) Huhn and Kevin Seger. Also survived by many caring relatives, friends, and parishioners. Died April 8, 2017 at the age of 66. Ordained June 4, 1988, also a professor for 17 years of Moral Theology and helped with seminarian formation at The Athenaeum of Ohio. Fr Mike retired July 2015 to Assistant Pastor of St Teresa of Avila. Reception of the Body Ceremony, Monday April 17, 2017 at 5PM at St Teresa, 1175 Overlook Ave., 45238, with visitation to follow until 8PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10AM at St Teresa of Avila Church. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Tuesday 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Our Daily Bread, PO Box 14862, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0862.

Fr. Mike and I were classmates at St. Teresa and Elder. I was lucky to have seen and spoken to him within the last few years. Previous to that , I hadn't seen him since 1968. He was a kind and caring man. I'm sure he will be missed.

Fr. Mike & my son, Arlyn, share a birthday, July 13th. From the moment Arlyn was born, he and Fr. Mike were "birthday buddies", as Fr. Mike would say. He was there when Arlyn received all of his sacraments and was also at Arlyn's first birthday party! We have many cherished memories of Fr. Mike and he will never be forgotten. Our prayers are with him and all of his family on "God's Holy Mountain".

My family met Fr. Mike when my daughter died at a very early age. He presided over her funeral and my family fell in love with him. He went on to officiate the marriage of my daughter and my son and baptized some of my grandchildren. He was a dear and wonderful person. The world could use more men like him. He will be sorrowfully missed and always remembered and loved by my family as well as countless numbers of my friends and fellow parishioners at St. John Fisher Church.
