Adam David Jeffrey Hernandez entered into eternal life on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the age of 26 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Adam was born March 21, 1995, in Fort Worth, Texas and was raised in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Milwaukee. He recently joined City Church Eastlake, where he continued to grow his faith and walk with Christ. Adam loved his family, his friends, and his people fiercely. He was a deeply spiritual person and he generously shared the wisdom he sought about life, religion and history with his family and friends. He nurtured his creativity and was a fearless dreamer, imagining new possibilities for himself and his beloved community. Adam embraced his gifts as a writer, poet, and music maker. He strove to live meaningfully and to give something creative and beautiful back to the world. Adam is survived by his son Avelo; his maternal family: mother Katie Kanost Hernandez; grandmother Barbara Kanost; siblings Alfredo, Almalina, Ava (Lee Abbott), Antonio, Armaundo, and Alberto; nephews and nieces Jeremy (Julie), Sophia, Ronnie, Angelene, Annalise, Mec'ee, Ashley, Armani, Angelo, Takyah, Jamahn, Amari, Liz, and Neko; uncle Jeff and aunt Joann; cousins Matthew and Sarah; and his paternal family: father, Michele Nicks, grandmother Gloria Nicks, aunt Saimoa, cousins Sierra, Mark, and Dejeuner. Adam was preceded in death by his siblings Alicia, Angelo, and Avery Hernandez; his grandfather David Kanost; and his grandmother in love, Joan Richard Abbott. He is loved and missed dearly by many family and friends. Adam's family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this difficult time and extend their gratitude to First Baptist New Orleans for creating a loving and welcoming space to celebrate Adam's life. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, September 18th, at First Baptist New Orleans, 5290 Canal Blvd. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m., followed by a service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow immediately at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, 10400 Old Gentilly Rd, New Orleans, LA 70127.
