Adele Margaret McIntyre Gremillion

GREMILLION Adele Margaret McIntyre Gremillion passed away with her children at her side on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 1:45 AM. She was born on September 27, 1916 to James T. McIntyre, Sr. and Caroline Wagner McIntyre and was raised in New Orleans, LA. She moved to Beaumont, TX in October 2000 to live with her daughter. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred J. Gremillion of 54 years. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna L. Gremillion Givens and her husband, Michael Givens and her son, Chris J. Gremillion and his wife Mary Grace Warren Gremillion. Those who affectionately called her Maw-maw are her grandchildren: Michelle Givens Huynh, Nicole Givens Nicholas, Christen Gremillion Timmins, Timothy Gremillion, Nicholas Gremillion and April Gremillion. She also has 6 great-grandchildren. Adele was a long time member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. Adele was a homemaker extraordinaire. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She was involved in the Scouting program where she received the God and Country Award for her service. The family would like to thank all the staff at Calder Woods and Buckner Hospice in Beaumont for giving their "Grandma" such tender loving care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at the LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME,(in Metairie Cemetery) 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM.
