On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, Adrian Butler, loving father of four children, passed away at the age of 64. Adrian was born on December 6, 1956 in New Orleans, LA. to James and Marie Butler Jr. He received his Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences from the University of New Orleans in 1979. He began working for Texas Instruments in Houston, Texas. He later relocated with his family back home to New Orleans. In 1989, he started working for The Folgers Coffee Company for 30 years as the Blendwriter and Lead Analyst at the Silo, in which he retired from in 2019. He married Urletta Harris and they raised two sons, Moses and Miles, whom he dearly loved and became stepfather to Kerry and Kim, whom he loved as his own. Adrian had a passion for building and collecting model cars, boats, and steam engine railroad trains. This passion was shared with his brother, Mark, who often gifted him with kits to build. Adrian was affectionately known as, The 'Grunt' by his coworkers, and it was displayed proudly on his vehicle. He was a kind and loving person, who cared and supported his family. Adrian was preceded in death by his parents James and Marie Butler Jr., his siblings: Janice Donahue, James Butler Jr., Norman Butler Sr. (Deloris), Nelson Butler, and Alton Butler; and nephews Nelson Butler Jr., and Narion Butler. He is survived by his former wife, Urletta Butler, and their children, Moses, Miles, Kim (Elvin), and Kerry (Nicole); grandchildren: Kiana, Antigoni, Taylor, Tyra, Kendrea, and Ky; great grandsons Torran and Edward; brother Mark Butler and sisters: Vera Claiborne, Vada Butler, and Iris Williams; nieces and nephews: Qiana Claiborne, Kara Butler, Katrese Butler, Nia Butler, James Butler III, Jason Butler, Jummane Butler, Norman Butler Jr., David Williams Jr., and Brandon King. He also leaves behind his devoted friends Ruby Walker and Chad Pitre. A Celebration on Life Service will take place on Thursday, May 6, 2021 for 10:00 a.m. at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy., New Orleans, LA 70126.
