Albert LaFrance Obituary

Albert P. LaFrance, Sr. on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at 7:30 o'clock AM. Age 76 years. Beloved Husband of Delta Thibodeaux LaFrance. Father of Daniel R. and Gary S. LaFrance, and the late Albert P. LaFrance, Jr. Brother of Grace L. O'Rourke, Carolyn L. Twohig, and the late Roy LaFrance. Son of the late Helena Dufrene and Sydney LaFrance. Grandfather of Michele L. Detillier, Rene, Adam, and Ryan LaFrance, Dustin and Dylan Nastasia. Great-Grandfather of Reid and Gavin Detillier and the late Celeste Detillier. Also survived by nieces and nephews. He was a native and resident of New Orleans for 37 years, a resident of St. Bernard Parish for 28 years, has been living in Washington Parish for the past 11 years, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Relatives and friends or the family also members of ILA # 3000 and employees of Cooper/T. Smith Stevedoring are invited to attend the funeral service at VICKERS, VERRETTE & DORNAN FUNERAL HOME, 3027 JEAN LAFITTE PARKWAY, CHALMETTE, LA. on Friday, August 9, 2002 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 10 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Tammany Hospice, 4410 Highway 22, Mandeville, LA. 70448 preferred.

I am the son of Joseph Oddo. My father worked with Mr. LaFRance on the riverfront years ago. I can remember him coming to Plaquemines Parish (our former home) and hunting squirrels. My sincere condolences are extended to you all and please call if you need anything at 366-9122.
