Albert LeBlanc Obituary

Albert Philip LeBlanc went to his heavenly home on July 28, 2014, at the age of 96. He was a graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans, a life member of the Knights of Columbus and a veteran of World War II, participating in 51 combat missions as the flight engineer and top turret gunner of a B-24 Liberator bomber in the European Theater. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert LeBlanc and Laura Jumonville LeBlanc, sisters Alberta Farrell, Beverly Tarantolo, brothers Alvin LeBlanc, Donald LeBlanc, Merrill LeBlanc and Lynwood LeBlanc. Albert is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Doris Gillen LeBlanc, his dear children Sharon Barthes (Mick), Sandra Ryan (Lou), Debbie Long (Matt), Jeanne Nell Procell (Ronnie), Ronnie Kay Smith, Marilyn Horne (Ron), Marcella Rachal (Chad) and Philip LeBlanc (Belynda). He is also survived by his brother Tommy LeBlanc (Diana), sister Lita Faye Johnson (Homer), sister-in-law Virginia Hein (Don), 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, each bringing him much joy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Albert's life at Sacred Heart Church, Norco, La. on July 31, 2014, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Albert will be laid to rest with military honors at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan, La. The family prefers memorials of masses, flowers or donations to the National World War II Museum, New Orleans. Condolences may be expressed at www.hcalexnderfuneralhome.com
