Alcide Simmons Sr.

Alcide Simmons, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 3, 2022, at the age of 76. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Alcide was a former employee with Avondale Shipyard as a certified galvanizer. Beloved husband of Darlyn Shorty Simmons. Devoted father of Alcide (Leslie) Simmons, Jr., Kendra Felicia (Gregory) Williams, Deimetra Arliss Simmons (Christopher) Hayes, and Darlene (Oliver, Sr.) Montgomery. Son of the late Lawrence and Leola Simmons. Grandson of the late Lawrence and Ethel Pearl Simmons, Mr. and Mrs. Narcisse. Brother of Richard Simmons, James Simmons, Edward Simmons, Theodore Simmons, Phillip (Lasandra) Simmons, Alvin Simmons, Mary Lee Alexander, Elizabeth Kennedy, Louise Littleton, Patricia (Lionel) Harris, and the late Herbert Simmons, and Lawrence Simmons, Jr., also survived by 8 by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second St. John Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
