Fritz,

You were one of a kind! It was an honor to know you and to call you a friend. You lived life well my friend and we will miss your welcome smile, hug, and if you were lucky a great neck rub from you. I think back and I realize that to know you was to know New Orleans. You will be missed terribly but I believe you are in heaven sailing and deeply involved in conversation about all and everything. Please watch over Gretchen and give her comfort through these trying times. We shall meet again, Mark

Fritz,

Thank for being a father, friend and teacher. You taught me many life skills. You instilled in me the love for spending time with family and friends, working hard, working with my hands, helping others, learning, music, sailing, theater, truth, respect, honesty, integrity, happiness and good times. All those things that make me the man I am today. I am fortunate to have had you as a part of my life. I will miss you and all the great times we lived together. I will strive to instill these things in my own children and your grandchildren. These are the things that make life meaningful and worth living. You are not forgotten and your spirit continues to sail on with those you have touched and loved.

Love always,

Victoria Tufts

I only had the honor of knowing Fritz for 6 years when we became neighbors after Katrina. In that brief time grew a friendship that I will remember and cherish always. I truly believe that the Lord's hand was at work when he put Fritz and I next door to each other. Even with such a large age gap(almost exactly 40 years)we had much in common and our minds worked in similar fashion; as I can't say we ever disagreed. Fritz was a confidant and a true friend who gave himself unconditionally, a man that I admired and loved, a man of God, and a blessing to all that knew him. Ill miss you dearly my friend. Thank you for everything.
